Sustainable Finance Framework

In line with its broader sustainability strategy, the BT Group has established a Sustainable Finance Framework to enable it to issue sustainable financial instruments to finance and refinance projects that enable the transition to a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy and/or have a positive social impact and alleviating social challenges.
Banca Transilvania and its subsidiaries are committed to promoting sustainable business in the sectors and regions in which the BT Group operates. By issuing sustainable finance instruments, the BT Group will provide additional transparency on the funded projects that have environmental and social benefits.

BT, the Strongest Romanian Brand
Banca Transilvania is the strongest Romanian brand, with an elite AAA+ rating, according to Brand Finance Romania 50, 2023.
The brand value increased by 25% compared to the preceding year, reaching EUR 494 million. At the same time, for the second year in a row, BT has been ranked among the top 10 strongest banking brands in the world.

BT reached the Top 300
Banca Transilvania has achieved 2 milestones in the Brand Finance Banking 500 2023 ranking: brand value surpassed USD 500 million (USD 513 million) and entered the top 300, ranking 297th. It is also ranked 7th in the Top 10 Strongest Banking Brands Worldwide, with an AAA+ brand rating.

Communication with investors
Maximum Vektor rating for investor communication
Banca Transilvania scored a maximum score, for the fifth consecutive year, in The Romanian Investor Relations Association (ARIR) assessment regarding the communication of the companies listed on the Regulated Market.
Vektor is the first investor communication indicator for listed companies and is calculated based on a methodology that includes 10 criteria, in line with the best international practices.

Gold Recognition for BT’s social engagement projects
Two social engagement projects supported by Banca Transilvania received Gold Recognition from the Community Index, the most comprehensive annual rating of community investment projects.

Fitch reaffirms BT rating
Fitch Ratings has reconfirmed its long-term rating on Banca Transilvania at 'BB+' with a stable outlook and its viability rating (VR) at 'bb+'. Details on Fitch Ratings.

BT's first assessment from Moody's
Banca Transilvania has received an investment grade credit rating from Moody's, which rates BT as having robust capital, strong and resilient profitability and significant liquidity.

ESG Ratings
Refinitiv Rating
Banca Transilvania obtained a rating of 81/100 (A-) granted by Refinitiv, a London Stock Exchange Group company, for the ESG performance. The rating also indicates a high degree of transparency in reporting sustainability aspects.
BT is ranked 49th out of 1.124 banks rated by Refinitiv worldwide.

FTSE Russell
Banca Transilvania awarded on ESG rating of 3.5, following the FTSE Russell assessment. The ESG Index is the result of an assessment based on three pillars: environmental, social and governance, using more than 300 indicators that analyse the bank’s exposure and how BT addresses the ESG area topics.

ESG Rating
Following the ESG assessment, Banca Transilvania has obtained an ESG Risk Rating, according to Sustainalytics. Thus, with a rating of 15.1 points, BT falls into the Low-Risk category, meaning that the company's value has a low risk of being significantly impacted financially by ESG factors. The result ranks Banca Transilvania in the top 15% of companies analyzed by Sustainalytics globally.

Most GHG Mitigated
Banca Transilvania has received Most GHG Mitigated recognition in Central Europe, by International Finance Corporation (IFC), for its contribution to reducing the impact of greenhouse gas emissions by providing green finance to companies in Romania.

Recognition for BT non-financial reporting
The bank's 2022 Sustainability Report received Gold Level Recognition following the Romania CST Index assessment, the only ranking for performance and transparency from a corporate sustainability perspective in Romania, calculated by The Azores Sustainability & CSR Services.

BT received the “Best Place to Work For” certification in Romania.
This is an international assessment program, conducted in over 100 countries around the world, a global authority on the recognition of excellence in organizational human resources practices. The evaluation considered the following criteria: leadership, employee involvement, compensation and benefits for employees, professional and personal development, team and team relationships, BT involvement in the community, human resources policies and wellbeing.
